10-year-old Kheris Rodgers experienced colorism when she was bullied at school for her dark skin tone. This would lead to her being teased by her classmates and teachers.
Her older sister, Taylor Pollard, was determined to boost her sister’s pride and confidence, and started taking and posting model style photos of Kheris on her Twitter account calling her “royalty”. With each photo, she would also use the hashtag #FlexinInHerComplexion.
She has now created a fashion line that instills confidence in other young girls facing the same issue of colorism. On top of that she has made history as becoming #NYFW youngest fashion designer EVER!
