Ada Blackjack’s Remarkable Story

Ada Blackjack (May 10, 1898 – 1983) was an Inuit woman who lived for two years as a castaway on uninhabited Wrangel Island in northern Siberia. Ada needed money for her son, so she joined a team of explorers—and ultimately became a hero.
