GENDER GENDER | SAFW DAY 4 RECAP

Last night the fashion scene took a bit of a break from the Women’s fashion and gave us slick Men’s fashion to look at.

We were treated to up and coming talent thanks to the Mini and GQ competition. Young designers were given the opportunity to show off their collections. The stand out collection and winner of the competition, Kumkani Bespoke gave us African pride throughout his collection. With his middle eastern top hats and basic black, red and white combinations he gave us a collection that was trendy and stylish. It showed us why his victory was awarded to him.

An interesting trend seen throughout the collections were clothing fits that were typically fitted for women being made for men. The colours such as bright yellow, shocking pink were seen throughout the male collections by the Uniconz, Mbutho Sipho.

Keys Fashion collection came through with that sequence, shimmer and shine. The risky yet classy garments had the audience in awe. The collection was full of silvers and sequence and showed a lot of skin. This collection was not for the uncomfortable or faint hearted. The collection looked like art work on stage.
With the week coming to an end, South African Fashion has certainly come along way and the world needs to look out for what’s in store.
