Tolantongo, Hidalgo

Grutas de Tolantongo is a little paradise 125 miles away from Mexico City. It is perfect for a day trip to beat the humid and hot days of the big city.  Grutas de Tolantongo houses is a small canyon with steep walls that has fantastic views of nature. The entire place is a natural gem filled with heated pools, outdoor activities, warm waterfalls that flow down into the pools and more. To get there, you’ll need to fly into Mexico City and either rent a car, take a tour or take the bus. Great experience for couples, solo travelers, and even families.

Off the beaten path, Oaxaca city is one of Mexico’s unknown treasures. It may well be the country’s cultural and culinary capital and has earned this title because of its charm. If you’re into easy going and culturally fulfilling experiences, Oaxaca city will seduce you into Mexcian culture, food, and traditions. It’s also the home of many indigenous tribes like Afro-Mexicans, boasts untouched sacred valleys, archeological sites, and villages. To get there, you will have to find flights connecting through Mexico city. If you love to travel slow, catch a local bus or drive and make it a fun road trip.

Tulum is a quaint town an hour away from its vibrant cousin, Cancun. While Cancun has always had the attention of many spring breakers, Tulum holds its own with pristine beaches, cenotes and Maya Ruins. This city is great for the solo traveler and families who want to get away from college shenanigans on Cancun beach. Who can say no to tranquil coastlines of jade-blue beaches and warm breezes? To get there, you will need to fly into Cancun and take the airport transfer to Tulum. You can also take the bus or rent a car and make it an adventure.

Las Coloradas, Yucatan Peninsula

If you ever wanted to kick your wanderlust into overdrive, this would be the place to do it. Who knew pink could be the color of a lagoon? Las Coloradas is the home to Mexico’s sparkling pink coastal lagoon. Not only is Las Coloradas home to this lagoon it also has pristine, empty beaches, that go on for miles on end. This is the ideal private getaway or honeymoon spot. To get there fly into Cancun and make this a rosy road trip!P
