We are well into November and naturally December plans need to be finalized. In case you still don’t know what to do between the 7th and 10th of December here is one great idea. The Abantu Book Festival.

The day events are held at the Eyethu Lifestyle Centre in Mofolo, and the night sessions at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani. Entry is free for day events, and at night tickets cost only R20.00.  The designated bookseller has a fine selection of titles by black writers on sale for the duration of the festival.

Abantu Book Festival has become an annual pilgrimage for black writers and readers held in SOWETO to celebrate the rich and diverse literary heritage emerging from the African continent. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on all of the fun.
