Activities That Bond: Social Activities to Build Friendships

Social activities amongst women can promote, and strengthen the bonds of friendship. Below are some activities that I did in the past 3 months to bond with my female friends, and for us to support and empower each other.  You can incorporate some of the things that I did or create your own activities!

  1. Vision Board Party

Vision boards are a great way to help manifest your goals and dreams! When the New Year came in I wanted to host a vision board party with some of my best girlfriends!  With vision board parties you always find more than one person who shares if not all, a few of the same goals that you are trying to accomplish. For example, if you attend a vision board party at a friend’s house, it’s most likely that you will meet other friends who share your same visions and goals. It’s always good to connect with someone who shares similar desires and goals as you do. At my party, we declared a NO JUDGMENT ZONE. Whatever each woman desired you must respect. We were willing to share our completed vision boards with each other, swap photos and magazines and helping each other if one could not find a specific photo. You can learn to be each other’s motivation, sharing methods of what works and what does not work to achieve the desires and goals from your vision board.

  1. Paint & Wine Event

Get your Picasso and Frida skills ready! Who doesn’t like wine with a mix of creativity? Sip and brush while engaging in conversation and art. I hosted a wine and paint event last month and loved it! Let your friends bring their favorite bottles of wine to share. Provide appetizers, glasses and paint supplies. You don’t need expensive aisles. I bought a pack of poster board from the dollar store for $2, paint kits for a dollar, and frames to put artwork in for a dollar each. We started out by using a replica of a few religious/spiritual pieces like a Hamsa (also known as the eye of Fatima in Muslim traditions) and painted away. We presented our masterpieces once finished and talked about what the piece meant to us. Next time we will do one or two pages from the new adult coloring books!

  1. Game Night

Games are so much more fun with two or more players. Allow each person to bring over 1 or 2 at the most of their favorite board or card game! If you have an even number of players you can split each person into teams of 2 and each group can play a different game of their choice. It was fun playing UNO and Apples to Apples with all 6 and even Connect 4 which brought back some childhood memories.
